Is it safe to take fioricet while on oxycodone?
I just got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and they were bothering me so I took 3 of the 5mg oxycodones that I was prescribed. I have a migraine though and I cannot sleep. Would it be safe for me to take fioricet to help with the migraine?

I do sometimes myself, but I wouldnt take more then one of each due to the amount of Acetaminophen.
Fioricet has 325mg of acetaminophen, and it depends on what type of oxycodone medicine your on, some contain 325mg, and some have 650mg’s, or if it’s oxycontin it wont have any acetaminophen at all, just try not to ecceed more then 650 mg of acetaminophen in a 3 hour period.

It is generally not recommended to take Fioricet (a combination medication containing acetaminophen, caffeine, and butalbital) and oxycodone together without the guidance of a healthcare provider. Both medications can cause sedation and respiratory depression, and taking them together can increase the risk of these effects.

Additionally, both medications can also have effects on the liver, and taking them together can increase the risk of liver damage or toxicity.

If you have been prescribed both medications, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider about how to take them safely and whether there are any alternative treatments that may be appropriate for your condition. They can provide guidance on dosages, potential side effects, and any necessary monitoring.
